ENERGY PURCHASING COOPERATIVES

Electricity is an essential part of modern life. We use it in our homes and businesses for lighting, running appliances, electronics, and for heating and cooling systems. Most consumers don’t think much about their electricity until faced with a power outage, or “shocked” by a high utility bill. Fortunately, thanks to the “deregulation” of the power industry, consumers have a choice to either stay with their current supplier or purchase electricity through an independent power provider, such as QVINTA. As an Independent “broker and aggregator,” we partner with multiple energy suppliers to provide competitively priced energy for your home or business needs.

QVINTA helps homeowners and business owners reduce energy costs by forming Energy Purchasing Cooperatives within their communities.  An Energy Purchasing Cooperative is a group of homeowners or businesses that have combined their buying power to purchase energy in the retail market at reduced prices.  By leveraging the combined purchasing power of the group over that of the individual, the cooperative is able to obtain competitive pricing. Purchasing energy through a co-op allows homeowners and small to medium-sized businesses to benefit from the same energy services available to large corporations.

Benefits of Forming an Energy Purchasing Cooperative (Co-op) through QVINTA

An energy co-op offers the benefit of group buying power, which results in lower  rates.

QVINTA is a client advocate; members do not have to navigate the energy choice decisions alone.

Members receive a fixed rate on electricity or natural gas, guaranteed not to change during the contract term.

Only the price and source where the power comes from changes; the local utility company continues to provide billing, distribution service, meter reading services, power line maintenance, and outage response services.

QVINTA services Homeowners Associations, Community Associations, Residential Rental Property Owners, and other businesses that require high energy consumption, such as laundromats, dry cleaners, restaurants, industrial sites, professional buildings, strip malls,  retail sites etc…

Call QVINTA today to schedule a FREE Energy Savings Orientation for your residential or business community.

ENERGY AUDITS

An energy audit is the first step to assess how much energy a home or business consumes and to evaluate measures to take that will make the premises more energy-efficient. An audit will reveal problems that may, when corrected, save significant amounts of money over time.

QVINTA Energy Auditors are available to:

Perform a complete analysis of energy usage in your home or business

Provide you with a detailed report of the audit results

Recommend ways to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs

QVINTA’S Energy Audits Provide Invaluable Information to our Customers

HOME ENERGY RATING (HERS) INSPECTIONS

Home energy ratings provide a standard measurement of a home's energy efficiency. The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index is a scoring system established by the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) which measures how efficiently existing homes use energy, and how pre-constructed homes will use energy.  The lower a home’s HERS Index, the more energy efficient it is. A HERS Index of zero indicates that the home uses no net purchased energy, and is considered a Zero Energy Building, which means that it produces the same amount of energy it uses.

QVINTA home energy raters perform a complete analysis of energy use in existing and pre-constructed homes, which provides the data to create the HERS Index. This analysis identifies a home’s energy characteristics, such as insulation levels, window efficiency, wall-to-window ratios, the heating and cooling system efficiency, the solar orientation of the home, and the water heating system. The data is entered into a computer program and translated into a HERS rating score.

Unlike an energy audit or a weatherization assessment, a home energy rating is a recognized tool in the mortgage industry. Home energy ratings can be used in a variety of ways in the housing industry.

   Homeowners

The HERS Index enables homeowners to make informed decisions when planning to invest in cost-effective home energy improvements.  Working closely with the customer, QVINTA gathers data on home energy use, determines the homes’ HERS Index, and provides counsel on strategies to improve the homes’ energy efficiency.  The HERS rating also verifies to lenders and prospective buyers that a home is energy-efficient.

Real Estate Agents & Private Home Sellers

A HERS rating helps real estate agents increase the resale value of their client’s home.  The results of a HERS analysis identifies improvements needed to align the home with energy performance guidelines.  A HERS rating can also qualify buyers for an Energy Efficient Mortgage offered by some lenders to cover the cost of energy-efficiency home improvements.

      Builders & Home Improvement Contractors

A HERS rating enables contractors to identify energy inefficiencies in new home constructions and additions.  This information allows contractors to address energy issues at the time of construction.
